Semi finals of PFMI 2012 to be held in Delhi

Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2012, India’s oldest and most sought after pageant, is back once again and all set to hold center stage in the world of glitz and glamour. In its 49th year, PFMI provides the opportunity of a lifetime to aspiring young girls all over the country in the realization of their cherished dreams of becoming and possessing the coveted title of ‘Miss India’.” So says Marc Robinson, Creative Director — Femina Miss India, as he and the team embark once again upon the task of picking from amongst India’s millions of lovely women, to find the head that shall wear the crown.The pageant has, for years, been the ultimate launchpad for its winners, who are now renowned names in the world of Bollywood and fashion.
The pageant has given the film industry such names as Juhi Chawla, Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Lara Dutta, Priyanka Chopra, Dia Mirza, and Neha Dhupia, to name a few. “Winning the title of Pantaloons Femina Miss India- Earth 2010 changed my life immensely,” says Nicole Faria, who went on to bring home the Miss Earth 2010 crown. “The whole experience, right from the training sessions, to actually winning a title, and then getting to represent my country on an international platform and bringing home a crown, was a dream come true. I now feel like I truly have the world at my feet.” Manasvi Mamgai, Pantaloons Femina Miss India-World 2010, agrees with her. “I think every little girl in our country has, at one time or another, dreamt of being up on that stage, with confetti raining down upon her, and a sparkling crown being placed upon her head. I consider myself supremely fortunate to have been able to live that dream.

I can’t think of a more holistic and prestigious title to aspire to.” In the run-up to the 49th edition of this fabulous event, the PFMI team will be visiting the country’s capital New Delhi, eager to meet pageant aspirants. Marc Robinson and the team invite walk-in auditions at the WelcomHotel Sheraton, New Delhi on January 17 and 18, where candidates have the opportunity to be spotted and shortlisted for the pageant semifinals, to be conducted in Mumbai on 28th January.
